As of June 1, 2014, changes have been made to student visas, and in order to apply for a Canadian student visa, you must now have an acceptance letter from a school designated by the Canadian government.
You must also report changes when you switch schools during your studies.
A school that can issue an acceptance letter that allows you to apply for a student visa is classified as a Designated Learning Institution.
Example) George Brown University’s Designated Learning Institution Number : O19283850612
